Hi! Welcome to my Story My name is Sayla Dhiyaul Auliyah, I’m from University of Bengkulu  (UNIB), Indonesia. I was participated in SEA Teacher Project Batch 9, and I was assigned at FEU Roosevelt College, Philippines. I have heard about this program from my friend whose classmate also wants to take part in the SEA Teacher program. After hearing many interesting experiences from previous participants, I decided to ask my parents what they thought about this program and they were happy to say that they would support me in joining this program.  So, I registered to take part in the Student Teacher Exchange program or SEA-Teacher Batch 9 program. The SEA Teacher Project, also known as “Pre-service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia”, is a project of SEAMEO. The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) is a regional intergovernmental organization founded in 1965 between the governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in the fields

.1 TEACHING METHODS           I have observed Mr Cuevo's class and I have noted some of the teaching methods he uses.  Before starting the lesson, Mr. Noni's will review the previous material and provide motivation to students, as a strategy so that students can focus on the lesson that will be delivered. Every time he explains the material, he uses a question and answer method so that students can listen to the material.  This is a good strategy because this way he can find out whether students understand the lesson that has been explained or not. If the students don't know the answer, Mr. Cuevo will provide instructions so the students can answer the question. I also noticed that he uses contextual learning where he relates the material taught to everyday life thereby allowing students to learn the concepts and theories that will be discussed. In this way, he will not always be a source of information and allows students time to think, study the material and remember the

.1 CURRICULUM      The FEUR uses the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.  At the basic education level, the Department of Education (DepEd) sets overall educational standards and mandates standardized test for the K–12 basic education system, although private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum in accordance with existing laws and Department regulations. This is why NEUST Laboratory High School of the College of Education also conforms with the K to 12 law of the Philippines.  FEUR is aimed at the development in all aspects of students: education, morality, physical. The learning system of the curriculum is based on the active learning approach that encourages students to do observing, questioning, associating, experimenting, and networking. This subject is designed to enhance the understanding of the principles and concepts in the study of biology, particularly life processes at the cellular and molecular levels. It also covers the transformation of energy in

.1 PLANNING FOR THEACHING           My Cooperating Teacher at FEUR High School is Prof. Nonilo Cuevo Jr. He is a science teacher and focuses on biology. Before teaching, he makes lesson plans and powerpoints based on the material to be taught.   4.2 PREPARING LESSONS AND MATERIALS         The lesson plans in FEUR (Philippines) is different from the lesson plans in Indonesia. The lesson plans at FEUR write down all the activities that will be carried out including mentioning possible responses from students. Some of the materials they have to prepare include: the most important are lesson plans, learning media such as PowerPoint, and guidebooks. The teacher teaches according to the lesson plan he has made. Starting from greetings, providing motivation to giving assignments or evaluations. 4.3 TEACHING IN CLASS         The first time is a preliminary activity. In this section the teacher carries out activities such as giving greetings, asking students to prepare themselves, preparing te

.1 PROCEDURES OF TEACHING       First of all, I greeted them first. I say good morning or good afternoon and ask how they are doing. I ask students to prepare for today's lesson. I give them motivational words related to the topic I will teach, so that students can be motivated to learn the material. his motivational words were "why do we need to learn about cells? what are the benefits of studying cells?"         In the learning process, I use a power point presentation with a projector. Before entering the material, I will repeat the previous material. Because repetition of material can help students to remember previous material and also the previous material is still related to the material that will be taught next. then I will show you a picture of cell diversity. So I will show different types of cells, such as animal cells, plants, fungi, protists and bacteria. First I will show the slides one by one and ask students questions about cell walls, nutrition, movement

.1 PURPOSE OF PRACTICUM        Participating in the SEA-Teacher program is truly one of the best experiences. This activity can help improve your English language skills. This is because living in another country which has a different language requires us to speak English all the time to communicate with other people.         Through this activity, prospective teachers get the opportunity to improve their teaching skills, find out what learning systems are like in other countries, find out what other countries' methods and strategies are, the curriculum and lesson plans they create. Through this program we can also learn a lot about how to make good lesson plans, how to teach using methods and strategies that don't make students bored or sleepy, we become more creative, innovative and confident when teaching in class.         This program can also be a venue for cultural exchange. Living in another country with a different cultural and religious background can teach us about m
